Gosh, They CAN be Cute!


This Spring, as usual, there were deer to the left of us, deer to the right of us. Deer all around us. Still, even amongst the plant predators, there are moments of sweetness. This little guy (or gal) stayed put in our front yard for a couple of hours while momma foraged amongst peoples' roses and fruit trees and vegetable gardens. The fauns really DO stay put while momma is away. I do, however, think mom could have picked a more secluded spot than in the middle of an exposed lawn.

Momma Deer Saunters Across an Ocean Shores Road
This morning, riding to get some coffee at one of the dueling Ocean Shores espresso stands, I saw my first fawn of the spring. Presumably in another week or so, they'll be ubiquitous
